There is a 7+ year old male
Rottweiler in the Calhoun County Animal Shelter in Battle Creek, Michigan that needs fostering soon. He is OK with other dogs as long as they leave him alone--he will retaliate if they get in his face. He is also heart worm positive. However, my friend who runs this shelter says that she is more concerned with getting him out of the shelter than with the heart worm issue. Apparently this male is getting "so sad" with each day he spends in the shelter--she is worried he may give up and die. My friend feels that if someone would foster him, the heart worm issue could be dealt with once he's out of the shelter and happier. There will be funds available for that purpose.
If anyone knows someone who does fostering for older dogs--so they can live out the time they have left in a happier place, please contact me at
kraus@altelco.net or the Calhoun County Animal Shelter at
ccas1101@sbcglobal.net
